Amy Goldsmith RDN, LDN (Founder and CEO)Founded Kindred Nutrition in 2010. She became a dietitian in 1999 and although she has worked with many realms of Medical Nutrition Therapy, specializes in Eating Disorders, Digestive Health, and Sports Nutrition. Amy's specialty in Eating Disorders initiated the HOPE Consortium, helping people with Eating Disorders, which she co-founded with Dr. Albertson. Amy focuses on meeting all her clients where they currently are and focusing on education, re-framing the mind, and using food as fuel for your brain and body. She believes there is a strong connection between the gut and brain and focuses on both with all clients. In addition, as a sports nutritionist and dietitian, Amy assists with getting the client to peak performance by incorporating optimal nutrition before, during training, race time, and recovery. Amy also enjoys speaking to many teams in the community such as FOX Swim Club, MAC Swim Club, Hood College Athletics, Mount Saint Mary's Athletic Teams, Odin Crossfit, and more.
Amy has been featured in multiple media outlets and works directly with Frederick County Schools, Montgomery County Schools, Run Farther and Faster, The Frederick Steeplechasers, Odin Crossfit, Anytime Fitness, Multiple Swim Clubs & Division 1 Collegiate Athletes throughout the United States.
Amy is routinely quoted in the Frederick News Post, has been quoted in SHAPE Magazine and My Fitness Pal forums, and written articles for Frederick Child's Magazine. She has been interviewed live through Frederick Advice Givers and WUSA-TV.
In 2018 Amy was elected as the Consumer Protection Coordinator Board Member with the Maryland Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This role allows her to continue to be an advocate for smart consumers.
In her spare time Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and Portuguese Water Dog and Crossfitting, hiking, cooking, and relaxing by the pool.
Rebecca Ridenour RDN. LDN has been a dietitian since 2010. Becca works with our BRAVE clients, specializing in Eating Disorders as well as our Digestive Health, Women's Health and Autoimmune and Sports Nutrition clients. Becca leads our BRAVE ED Support Groups, and works to create and implement additional concierge programs to support our clients to get to end goals. Becca specializes in meeting clients where they are, educating on proper fueling, and collaborating with team members to provide support and recovery.
Becca also specializes in Renal Nutrition and collaborates with Frederick's nephrologists to provide nutrition counseling for clients with Stage 3 and Stage 4 Renal Failure.
In Becca's spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, Crossfitting, and enjoying lake activities.
Amy works with her team to incorporate state of the art equipment & innovative programs that are backed by scientific evidence. We are a specialized nutrition and wellness private practice staffed by Registered and Licensed Dietitians and Nutritionists, Certified Yoga Instructors, and a Therapist.
Our office integrates Food Intolerance Testing, Resting Metabolic Rate Testing, Body Fat Testing, and Laboratory Testing to assist our collaborating medical teams with markers that help define treatment plans.
In addition to Diagnostic Testing we also incorporate wellness services to support treatment outside of individual appointments to include: Yoga, BRAVE Fitness Classes, Support Classes, Grocery Store Tours, Meal Prep and Cooking, Grocery Tours and Mindful Meal Exposure. We are a unique practice in Frederick and are proud to work with clients in the DC metro area, Western Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Kim Coppola LCSW (Therapist) joins our team bringing 8 years of experience in child life, outpatient counseling, and group work. Kim fosters an emotionally safe environment for children, adolescents, and adults while establishing a therapeutic alliance with her clients. Kim works from a strength based perspective with a goal of improving overall health and well being. We look forward to collaborating with Kim to treat our clients and promote recovery for our Eating Disorder clients as well as any of our Women's Health, Digestive Health, and Sports Nutrition clients.
Kim holds a Masters Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. When Kim is not in the office she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, being physically fit and challenging herself with Crossfit.
Dawn Croft RDN, LDN has been a dietitian since 2002. She has a large range of experience in outpatient and inpatient nutrition and is specialized and trained on the use of a low FODMAP diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome at Monash University, an evidence based approach for Gastrointestinal Disease.
In addition to her specialization in FODMAP, Dawn has a variety of experience with Weight Management, Eating Disorders, and Sports Nutrition. She also looks forward to bringing her specialties to the group setting at Kindred Nutrition.
In her spare time Dawn is busy with her husband and two daughters either on the lax field, working with her trainer, or getting settled in her new home.
Alana Earp LMSW (Therapist) brings 9 years of experience to Kindred Nutrition. Alana believes that in order to care for our mental, physical, and emotional health it's important to learn how to integrate self care. If you suffer from heightened emotions that affect your daily life please know it is normal to feel helpless and hopeless. As a therapist Alana's goal is to help you identify your emotions and develop a plan with coping strategies and techniques to help you decrease anxiety, stress, fear, isolation and more. Self care is modeled through goal setting and problem solving. Alana is here to support you and find your strengths. In addition to experience with working with the vulnerable adult population, Alana has
experience with competitive gymnastics and understand mental blocks and working through fear issues.
In Alana's spare time she coaches gymnastics and spends time with her family and infant son.
