Amy Goldsmith RDN, LDN (Founder and CEO)Founded Kindred Nutrition in 2010. She became a dietitian in 1999 and although she has worked with many realms of Medical Nutrition Therapy, specializes in Eating Disorders, Digestive Health, and Sports Nutrition. Amy's specialty in Eating Disorders initiated the HOPE Consortium, helping people with Eating Disorders, which she co-founded with Dr. Albertson. Amy focuses on meeting all her clients where they currently are and focusing on education, re-framing the mind, and using food as fuel for your brain and body. She believes there is a strong connection between the gut and brain and focuses on both with all clients. In addition, as a sports nutritionist and dietitian Amy assists with getting the client to peak performance by incorporating optimal nutrition before, during training, race time, and recovery. Amy also enjoys speaking to many teams in the community such as FOX Swim Club, MAC Swim Club, Hood College Athletics, Mount Saint Mary's Athletic Teams, Odin Crossfit, and more.
Amy has been featured in multiple media outlets and works directly with Frederick County Schools, Montgomery County Schools, Run Farther and Faster, The Frederick Steeplechasers, Odin Crossfit, Anytime Fitness, Multiple Swim Clubs & Division 1 Collegiate Athletes throughout the United States.
Amy is routinely quoted in the Frederick News Post, has been quoted in SHAPE Magazine and My Fitness Pal forums, and written articles for Frederick Child's Magazine. She has been interviewed live through Frederick Advice Givers and WUSA-TV.
In her spare time Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and Portuguese Water Dog and Crossfitting, hiking, cooking, and just plain relaxing.
Rebecca Ridenour RDN. LDN (Office and Program Manager) has been a dietitian since 2010. Becca works with our BRAVE clients, specializing in Eating Disorders as well as our Digestive Health and Sports Nutrition clients. Becca leads our BRAVE ED Support Classes, helps to manager our BRAVE Body yoga groups and is consistently working to create and implement additional concierge programs to support our clients to get to end goals. Becca specializes in meeting clients where they are, educating on proper fueling, and collaborating with team members to provide support and recovery. In Becca's spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and almost eighteen month old son, Crossfitting, and enjoying lake activities.
Amy works with her team to incorporate state of the art equipment & innovative programs that are backed by scientific evidence. We are a specialized nutrition private practice staffed by Registered and Licensed Dietitians and Nutritionists. It is important to understand that all dietitians are nutritionists BUT all nutritionists are not dietitians.
Our office integrates Food Intolerance Testing, Resting Metabolic Rate Testing, Body Fat Testing, and Laboratory Testing through collaboration OR Genova Diagnostics to assist our collaborating medical teams with markers that help define treatment plans.
In addition to Diagnostic Testing we also incorporate concierge services to support treatment outside of individual appointments to include: Yoga, Support Classes, Grocery Store Tours, Meal Prep and Cooking, and Mindful Dining.
Alison Sacks RDN, LDN (Social Media Specialist and Dietitian) has been a licensed registered dietitian since 2008. She specializes in helping people achieve a realistic, healthy lifestyle using a balanced, whole-foods approach. She is highly skilled in disease management and prevention, digestive health, pre/post-natal nutrition, disordered eating and helping people with weight concerns.
Alison believes it’s not about restrictions, but about creating new habits. She strives to help people develop their own best version of health and wellness using a practical and positive approach rather than follow an unrealistic plan. Her passion and dedication for identifying and addressing the root causes of illness is centered on an integrative approach she uses to support her clients along their journey to achieve their full wellness potential.
With both good health and taste in mind, Alison teaches busy moms, executives, aspiring athletes and working professionals how to navigate their individual and family’s wellness needs with confidence. For individuals looking to boost their culinary skills, Alison provides hands-on private and group-based cooking lessons using locally sourced functional foods.
Alison holds a degree in dietetics from Eastern Michigan University. In her free time, Alison loves to spend time with her family on their farm in Sabillasville, MD which gives her the perfect space to fulfill her need for dirt, hard work, and animals.
